Younger children can enjoy the activities with instructions read aloud and answers shared through drawing or conversation. Older children can try more independently, add writing and explain their ideas.

The included parent and teacher guide offers practical suggestions, while the completion certificate celebrates their effort, creativity and curiosity.

Some activities refer directly to events and discoveries in Effie the Midge. Reading the book together helps children get the most from those pages. The storybook is sold separately.

Easy to download and print

• Format: Digital PDF activity pack.
• Suggested ages: 4–8, with adult support as needed.
• Paper size: US Letter, 8.5 × 11 inches. Select “Fit to page” when printing on A4.
• Printing: Black-and-white worksheets; print only the pages you need.
• Materials: Pencils, an eraser and crayons or coloured pencils. The story-sequencing activity also needs scissors and glue, with adult help.
