What an action packed four days with so much to create in such a short space of time. VR is a completely new world for me. Thankfully, I had lots of wonderful 3d coding experts on hand to help put it all together using edify and other vr programmes.
Once we had our story idea in place of Simon the Sloth, it was just a matter of creating three different virtual worlds; the rainforest, the Taj Mahal in India and the Atlantic Ocean. Into these worlds we put animals and flags from their countries and tabs explaining what each animal eats and what country they are from. Then we added the relevant part of the story and portals to transport animals from one world to another.
We then had to create a video showcasing the ideas behind our creation and the association with SloCo (the Sloth Conservation Charity) and we were all set. Being able to visit Glasgow and explore the world we had created in VR was an incredible experience and really highlighted the huge amount we had achieved in such a short space of time!
Congratulations to everyone who took part, what a feat!
