When I was a student at St Andrews University Alexander McCall Smith invited me for tea. I was very honoured to meet him. He showed me where he does his writing, answered my questions and gave me two free books. He was the first writer who had believed in me and given me time, long before I put pen to paper.
To meet him again, years later, when I am about to publish my twelfth book meant the world. He continues to inspire me and encourages me to keep going. Filling hearts and minds of people with stories is just the greatest gift in this world. Thank you, Mr McCall Smith, for giving up your time to talk to me about books, art, life and everything in between. I will never forget a second!!
